No stranger to high-end special edition cars, Audi will produce a limited run of 80 R8 ?China Edition? supercars in, well, China.?
Based on the pre-facelifted R8 V10, the car sources certain exterior bits from the R8 GT like its spoiler, wheels, carbon fiber mirror caps. The interior also gets elements from the GT including leather, Alcantara trimming and lots of carbon fiber.
Interestingly, Audi is being careful not to include the number four in any of its cars serial numbers. That means while there will be 80 made, the vehicles will be numbered one through 99.
?To respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers, all numbers with 4 are removed from the serial numbers 1-99,? Audi said.
The same 5.2-liter V10 engine sits behind the seats and can rocket the car from 0-62 mpg (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds.
