Justin Bieber left British fans and their parents unhappy here after starting a Monday concert nearly two hours later than advertised.

While the 19-year-old singer's young fans were kept waiting inside the O2 Arena in the British capital, frantic parents started converging on the venue expecting to pick up their children, according to the BBC.

Fans tweeting from inside the London venue said there were boos from the crowd almost an hour before the star emerged, according to the report. Speaking after the show, one fan told the BBC: "They were playing Michael Jackson song, after song, after song -- ?it was so annoying."

Added the fan: "Everyone was on edge and as more time passed, everyone was getting more worried and booing."

Bieber had been due to start at 8:30pm London time. The opening acts performed until 8:50pm, and it wasn?t until 10:20pm that Bieber appeared on stage, the BBC reported. It didn't mention the opening acts, but the arena's web site lists "Call Me Maybe" star Carly Rae Jepsen and Australian singer Cody Simpson as Bieber's support talent during his London visit.

One unhappy parent said he paid $605 (?400) for three tickets and tweeted that he ended up missing the performance so he could make the last train home. He added: "Disgusting!! Waste of my time and money... never again."

Bieber's previous U.K. gig, in Nottingham on Saturday, also began late. The O2 Area, one of London's most popular music venues for big stars, apologized for the late start via its Twitter feed. "Justin Bieber is now on stage and apologizes for the lateness of his show," it said. Tuesday morning, it followed up, saying the venue would? be "exploring all available options to ensure this doesn't happen again."

Bieber is set to play three more gigs at the London arena this week, with shows set for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
